Diversity in the organic shop - A new future for varieties threatened with extinction

Bell pepper (Source: ProSpecieRara)

The project serves the successful development of the market for organically grown diversity products of historical, indigenous and endangered crops. The diversity of varieties in the biological value chain is increased by presenting endangered and forgotten vegetables to consumers and offering them for consumption. Consumer information has a key role to play here. Existing distribution channels in organic farming are used to selectively sell the diverse products and create a new niche. All varieties marketed within the scope of the project are marketed with both the organic seal and the ProSpecieRara seal. Usually sustainable and active use is the best prerequisite for the long-term conservation of genetic resources.
